# A Helm release's only revision is stuck in pending-install. Which recovery works?

Helm, Hard (Expert), Troubleshooting. https://k8wiz.com/uquiz/a-helm-releases-only-revision-is-stuck-in-pending-install-which-recovery-works

- A. helm rollback the release to revision 0
- B. helm uninstall it, then install it again
- C. helm upgrade --install with --force-replace
- D. helm install the same name with --replace

**Answer:** helm uninstall it, then install it again

**Explanation:** There is no earlier revision to roll back to, and helm upgrade --install still refuses because the latest revision is pending. helm install --replace only reuses a name whose last revision is failed or uninstalled. Uninstalling removes what the first attempt created, after which a normal install works.
