What does volumeBindingMode: WaitForFirstConsumer on a StorageClass do?
Select your answer:
Show answer and explanation
Answer: Delays provisioning and binding of a PVC until a pod that uses it is scheduled
Explanation
In the default Immediate mode, the volume is provisioned as soon as the PVC is created, possibly in a zone where the pod can't run. WaitForFirstConsumer makes the provisioner wait for the scheduler's choice, so the volume respects the pod's node selectors, affinity and topology. This matters for zonal disks such as EBS or Persistent Disk.
